Arriving by Car from A11

After going under the A47 bypass look for the junction with the A140. Turn left at this roundabout and follow the signs to Cromer and the airport. Go straight on at the next roundabout then turn right at the following roundabout. This is Dereham Road. Drive past a pub called ‘Queen Charlotte’ on your right, through a set of traffic lights and take the third left. This is Northumberland Street. The Wensum Guest House car park is the first entrance on the left.

The Wensum Guest House car park is the first entrance on the left.

Arriving by Train

The railway station is on the other side of the city to us, but Norwich is so small it still doesn't take long to get here. There are usually black cabs waiting, or you may like to phone in advance one of the taxi firms listed below.

If you would like to use a bus instead, cross over the car park to the main road (Riverside), cross over to the river and walk over the bridge on Prince of Wales Road to find the first bus stop on the left hand side. Then take bus numbers 19 or 20 (see below).

To walk it would probably take approximately 30-40 minutes.r 603 runs every fifteen minutes during the day from the airport into the main bus station (Bay 12; see above). Alternatively, if you are one of the first off the plane there may be a black cab waiting for you, or you may prefer to phone a taxi firm below.

Arriving by Bus

Most long distance buses arrive in the main Norwich bus station situated between Queen's Road at the top and Surrey Street at the bottom. If you wish to continue to the Wensum Guest House by bus, go down to Surrey Street and turn left, turn right when you reach St Stephen's Street then left up Rampant Horse Street until you see the bus stop for the 19, 20, 21 and 22 buses (see below).

If you have much luggage it will be much easier to use a taxi. Sometimes there are black cabs available from either Surrey Street or Queen's Road; more often though you will need to phone one of the cab firms listed below.

To walk it without much luggage would probably take approximately twenty minutes.

Buses to and from Wensum Guest House

It's only a fifteen minute walk into the city centre, but if you prefer there are plenty of buses from the guest house to and from the city. Take any bus into the city; coming back look for the 19, 20, 21 or 22 which you can either catch from Castle Meadow or from Rampant Horse Street. Ask for the Earl of Leicester pub stop (the pub is no longer there, but the stop is still known as such!) We are on the other side of the road, a few yards back.
